UCR Department of Dance presents Recast(e)ing South/Asian Dance and Performance This year’s colloquium recasts South/Asian dance and performance through the lenses of caste, race, gender, sexuality, nation, migration, diaspora, and coloniality. Invited presenters include scholars, artists, scholar-artists, and artist-scholars whose work engages with South/Asian cultural production in India, Australia, the US, China, and the Caribbean. The colloquium will culminate in the annual Christena Lindborg Schlundt Lecture in Critical Dance Studies and Dance Making.
