This award recognizes the indispensable aid rendered the field of dance studies by people who sustain existing structures, institutions, and organizations for dance research. The award calls attention to superlative labor, especially, but not limited to, unpaid labor performed for extended periods of time. Such labor might make professional organizations run efficiently, ease and facilitate the use of archives or collections; or aid grant-writing or publication processes. The Committee may entertain additional formulations of "service" so long as they do not conflict with the Outstanding Scholarly Research category. 2024 Awardee: Norton Owen, Jacob's PillowNomination Instructions - submissions open on December 1, 2024 (deadline February 17, 2025)Email a letter of nomination stating the nature and duration of the nominee's service activity and its significance to dance studies; the nominee's curriculum vitae, if you have access to it; any additional relevant materials to support the case.
