Workshops for artists & art writers
with Abigail Levine
Wednesdays, May 1, 8, 15, 22 || 7-9:30 pm EST
On Zoom
These workshops will give you tools and techniques for developing writing to use both in your creative work and to talk about it.
-
We’ll develop language that feels both authentic and strategic, building comfort and confidence in writing more generally.
-
We’ll write, review examples of artist statements, and get feedback from the other artist-participants.
-
You’ll leave the workshop with writing about yourself as an artist and your current projects, as well as some easy practices to continue build this part of your work and career.
-
We’ll work from techniques you use already in your creative work—embodied exercises and formal constraints—that get you out of your head and connect to language through your body.
-
These workshops are designed for practicing artists, academics, curators and others working in art fields, and pre-professional students.
-
After the workshop, I will provide individual written feedback on a draft of a piece of writing, artist or teaching statement, project description, etc.
